About Me

I'm an award-winning photographer specialising in live music and portrait photography. I live in Durham in the North East of England but do much of my work in and around London.

My aim with my photography is to convey the passion and feeling behind the music rather than just a straight capture of the event or gig. In my view, a great music photographer needs to be in love with the music and able to anticipate and capture the expressive moments – capturing performers ‘in the moment’. Many of my images are captured in small clubs and I aim to convey the intimacy and connection with the audience that comes with that environment.

In May 2022, I won the Live Music category in the inaugural Abbey Road Music Photography Awards for my image of jazz drummer David Mrakpor. In July 2022, Abbey Road Studios interviewed me about my work. Follow this link to read the interview.

In November 2022, I exhibited some of my works across a number of venues at the first London Open A-rt Vision (LOAV) festival (link here) and, from December 2023 to January 2024, I hosted my first solo exhibition at Hoxton Cabin in London.

My current exhibition, 'The Space Between the Notes', runs until October 6th at Art & Grind in Guildford as part of the Guildford Jazz and Soul Festival.

A number of my images have also been used by artists for album covers. Follow this link to see some examples.

In January 2025, I was awarded an Associateship by the Society of Photographers. This required submitting a panel of 20 images that each needed to pass against 10 separate criteria and the panel needed to ‘sit together as a body of work representative of the photographer’s unique style, creativity and skills.'

I am available to shoot musicians at gigs and other locations and have a fully portable portrait photography set up. Please feel free to contact me with any comments, questions or requests, including booking enquiries. I am always very happy to discuss ideas for shoots or collaborations.
